In November 2023 we went to Sofia and met the Italian, Greek and Bulgarian youth workers who enrolled for our 2-day training. The workshop was held as part of the project MiGIS – Migrant Girls in Sport: Never Behind Again!
Together with our partners BSDA, who hosted us, and Roes Coop, we worked with more than 20 youth workers from the 3 countries to deepen our understanding of the discriminatory dynamics that limit the possibilities of inclusion for children, in particular girls from migrant backgrounds, and used our shared knowledge to build more inclusive models of intervention, through the use of sport and movement as a community-building tool among the youth.

And in 2024?
In 2024, between February and March, we will visit 6 schools in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria together with our team of youth workers, to give practical implementation and improve the approaches we tested during the training. Each association will organise 2 workshops in as many schools in their country, where the youth workers who took part in the training in Sofia will lead activities with children, and will contribute to the creation of a higher quality environment for all, in particular for migran girls.
